Is REALity tv even real?

There are three types of reality TV. 1. Docusoap - Examples: makeovers, home renovations 2. Hidden cameras- Example: pranks 3. Game shows - Examples: survival, singing, dancing, acting What makes reality TV, TV? Well there are usually the same things you can expect when you watch reality TV. You can expect all the drama, the big house, cast diversity and the confession cam. You probably wonder why someone would want to be on reality when they know what to expect but I mean some people will do anything for fame, money, experience and you also might be wondering why anyone would even want to watch. Well some reasons would be that you can relate to their life and also we could be wondering what it can to an ordinary person. Some big stars started out on reality TV like Katherine McPhee on “American Idol”, Lucy Hale in “American Junior”, Jamie Chung on “The Real World” and Emma Stone on “In Search of the Partridge Family”. But not all people on reality TV become famous so why does everyone think they can. Well that’s because celebrities act so normal so we think if they can do it so can we. Some celebrities are just famous from descent like royal descent, and child descent. Types of Celebrity Status: Achieved: gained through talent & hard work Attributed: generated through Media

Fans Can Get Craaaazy!

Fandoms can get pretty crazy and some fans can become a little obsessive to the point where they obsess over EVERYTHING about the celebrity. I guess it can be important to know the little things about them like their favourite colour and their birthday but you don't really need to know the things like how much they weigh. That stuff is personal in my opinion and private. Some fans believe everything they read about the celebrity and will go crazy over it to the point where they will threaten the celebrity. Like that is just crazy. Whenever I read stuff on the Internet (Facebook, twitter) that I’m interested in, I will look it up and see if it’s true otherwise ill think it’s just rumors, because you can’t believe everything you read on the Internet. If I hear something on the radio, I will believe it because there not random people on the radio like on the Internet. If I'm going to hear something or read it I would rather it to be accurate because sometimes accuracy can be entertaining, not as entertaining as some rumors can be. I'm part of the fandom "Directioners" because I love One Direction <3 I'm not one of those obsessive ones, I support them, and when they release a new a new music video and I will help to break the record of “most views on a music video” and I will keep up to date on what they’re doing but that's pretty much it. Some other fandoms have asked the "Directioners" to help them with beating records because they know how crazy hard we try aha. Some downsides to being a directioner is that most people I know aren't a fan of them and make fun of them and I'm just like no they're amazing. I recently read about some twilight fans who almost killed some non- twilight fans! One story I read was about these three friends who were sitting near a dock watching people unload their catch, and they were talking about how much they think twilight sucks when a Twi-hard overheard them and fired a flare gun at them. It hit one of the friends arm and burned his arm. Another story I read was about this girl who was sitting at a table with some Twi-hard’s and saying that because of all these crazy fan girl attacks she’s disliked the movie more and more. She said that twilight should be destroyed because of it. One girl marched of steaming. Later that day when the girl went to go sharpen her pencil the Twi-hard fan that had stomped off, attempted to slit her throat with a shank. The fan ended up getting expelled.

Celebrity Endorsement!

A celebrity endorsement is an advertising product/service that involves a celebrity to help promote the product/service. To me there used to get more popular than a product there competing against. For example Pepsi and Coca-Cola battle to be #1 and they have had many celebrity endorsements. But other companies who don’t have celebrity’s promoting their product aren’t so popular like Mountain Dew. Pepsi = orange http://www.brandwatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/ct1.png Coca-Cola = blue Mountain Dew = green An example of a celebrity endorsement is Ashley Benson and Lucy Hale for Bongo Jeans. Bongo said they wanted them because they wanted the two hottest girls on television. I think it’s because they wanted people to buy their product so they got the two hottest girls on TV. There are 3 types marketing. The first one is direct marketing which is when a celebrity is hired by a company to promote their product through mass media. The second type is indirect marketing which is when the celebrity is hired to promote their product in their everyday life. The last one is accidental marketing which is when a celebrity simply likes that product and promotes it without even knowing they are promoting it just by using it or wearing it. I think the one type of marketing that has influenced my life the most is accidental because then I know for sure that they like it and if they like it I’ll think that I might like it too. I wouldn’t say celebrity endorsements have gotten me to buy products because of the celebrity except for this one time. It was around Christmas 2012 and I was a bieliber. I hadn’t even smelt the Justin Bieber perfume but I just knew I wanted it because he had his name on it. Luckily for me, it smelt good so it was a double win.
